Nominate an Advisor for the 2011 Award
Print the application(pdf) and submit via mail, e-mail, or faxEstablished by the Executive Committee in November 2006, the Academic Advisor Excellence Award is given to an OHAAA Member in recognition of excellence in the field of advising. This award will be given annually as part of the OHAAA Annual Conference. All nominees are recognized at the conference as well.
A call for nominations will be made annually by the President near the beginning of the Academic Year. Nominations will be accepted annually from Oct 1st through April 30th.
Any OHAAA member in good standing may be nominated for the Academic Advisor Excellence Award (current Executive Board Members excluded). Self-nominations are not accepted.
Any OHAAA Member in good standing may nominate one of their peers for the Academic Advisor Excellence Award.
Candidates may be nominated for the Academic Advisor Excellence Award based upon evidence of the following criteria:
- Service and commitment to students
- Service and commitment to the college
- Represents their college well to the public
- Innovation in advising services
- External recognition and service (NACADA; Awards; advising publications, etc)
Individuals making nomination must detail in writing the manner in which the candidate meets the criteria.
